Specialist nurses
Going home is possible for more children with the support of CLIC Sargent specialist nurses.

These Tesco-funded nurses will help children spend as much time at home as possible by co-ordinating all the care they need when they get home.
For example:
- To save lots of trips to the hospital, specialist nurses will arrange for children to have some procedures at home, such as blood tests and sometimes chemotherapy.
- A child treated for a brain tumour may have disabilities as a result of surgery, and specialists nurses can help to co-ordinate speech therapy and physiotherapy or arrange specialist equipment.
- A child who has missed months or years at school may need a home tutor, or help with returning to school, which specialist nurses can help the school to plan and organise.
"I'm at home now and I love it, because it feels like life is normal again" Sophia, age 13.
