Tesco raising money for CLIC Sargent

Spreading festive cheer

During December, groups of Tesco volunteers helped to spread some festive cheer by decorating CLIC Sargent Homes from Home in time for Christmas.

Baubles, tinsel and twinkle lights were gathered from Tesco head offices in readiness for the Christmas season, to give the Homes from Home some new decorations and to offer some fantastic Tesco staff the opportunity to learn more about CLIC Sargent’s services.

Tesco stores in Nottingham were approached and despite the adverse weather conditions, on Wednesday 1 December volunteers were co-ordinated from Superstores and Express stores in the area to decorate Billy’s House.  The volunteers brought a new Christmas tree from the nearby Tesco Homeplus and they had a jolly time putting up the decorations and getting to know the team in the Nottingham Home from Home.

On Monday 6 December, Tesco staff from the Bishopston Express store visited CLIC House and CLIC Annexe in Bristol to put up decorations.  The team thoroughly enjoyed seeing the Homes which are only minutes away from their store. They brought toys with them for the children staying over Christmas such as skipping ropes and water pistols – let’s hope the House staff won’t mind being involved in target practice!

Christmas volunteersOn Thursday 9 December, the Tesco Commercial Resourcing team from Welwyn Garden City met for some festive fun at Paul’s House in London.  They really went to town sourcing not only brand new trees, decorations and Christmas cards for the Home, but also liaising with the Tesco buying teams to source all manner of toys, Christmas food goodies and even a delivery of fresh turkeys in time for Christmas lunch!
