Tesco raising money for CLIC Sargent

Strictly Come Dancing Live!

A Tesco does Strictly Come Dancing Live event in Stevenage raised £12,299 for CLIC Sargent in December.  The 20% Tesco Charity Trust topup brought that total to an amazing £14,758.

Eleven Tesco employees from Dotcom and Telecoms were taught to dance ready to perform in front of 550 people. Judges – Andy Higginson (CEO Tesco Retailing Services), Daphne Pullen (Chair of Trustees CLIC Sargent), Ansel Chezan (Dance Examiner), and Izabella Hannah (Strictly Come Dancing Professional) – commented and scored them out of ten.

The audience also scored each dance and Jillian Lidgate and partner Joseph Sewell (pictured above) won the glitterball trophy. They danced a high energy, Lindy Hop cram packed full of lifts to Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.

Jillian, now senior marketing manager for Clothing, Ents and Wine, said: “Taking part was a fantastic experience and so much fun.

“The training was tough but knowing that we were raising money for such a great cause made it easier!“
