Tesco raising money for CLIC Sargent

Chester get on their bikes!

Staff in the Chester store and Starwood office are already raising funds!

Tesco staff at the Sealand Road branch in Chester are all geared up to cycle the equivalent distance from their home town to the World Cup in South Africa - a staggering 8,991km.

The challenge, which will take place on exercise bikes in the store, started on 6 April and will take more than ten weeks to complete.  They have already raised £4,000 and are hoping to raise an amazing £10,000 with pure pedal power.  On current form they should arrive in South Africa in time for the first England game!

But you don’t need to be super fit to raise money for children with cancer.  If your skills lie in the kitchen why not get cooking?  Staff at the Starwood office kicked off their fundraising in March with an Easter bake sale and raffle. The sale was the first of 16 ‘bake offs’ which will culminate in the crowning of a new Champion Cake Baker of Starwood House.

Over £200 was raised – an exceedingly good start to their fundraising.  This will be added to the final tally from other events planned during the year, including Wimbledon cream teas, a lottery and sunflower growing competition.
