Grangemouth fun day
The Tesco store in Grangemouth recently held a fun day to raise funds for CLIC Sargent. Activities included a bouncy castle, tombola stalls, and the chance to throw wet sponges at staff volunteers (including the store manager!). A surprise guest, Nellie the Elephant, also made an appearance to hand out goodies to the children.
The fun day is just one of the many events the store has organised over the last five months.
Caroline Reid and Jayne Bell have been leading the campaign. But all the money raised would not have been achieved without the support of the Grangemouth staff, store manager John Dobbin, personnel manager Marnie Macdonald, and of course the customers. They have also received donations from local shops, Barr's and Malcolm Allan.
A total of £800 was raised from the fun day, bringing the store’s total to £2,500 in just five months. When added to the 20% top up from Tesco Charity Trust, and the money from charity tins in store, this adds up to well over £3,000.
The store is also holding a staff fundraising disco in October, which they are hoping will take their total to over £4,000. This will smash their original £1,000 target and is fantastic work!
