Doncaster Distribution
Tesco’s Distribution Centre in Doncaster raised thousands of pounds for children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent by holding a charity fun day on Saturday 4th September.
Twenty four fearless volunteers from the distribution centre kick-started the fundraising at 11am by donning their fancy dress and participating in a terrifying 200 foot bungee jump.
The event included a host of fundraising attractions for all the family. These included a cage ride and bouncy castle for the children, a delicious BBQ, and stalls selling, snacks, cheeses and pastries.
A fiercely contended football tournament was also held with teams from Tesco warehouses paying to enter, all vying to be crowned winners of the league.
Lisa Hall, Tesco Warehouse Team Manager, said: “CLIC Sargent is a fantastic cause and the nurses play a vital role in allowing children undergoing treatment to spend less time in hospital, or on the road, and more time at home with their family and friends. At the distribution centre we really want to raise as much as we can so that more families in Doncaster can benefit from the service they offer.
“The event was really good fun. Our staff, including three of their children, conquered their fear to bungee jump at the sports club.
“We received so much support from so many people and I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated to the event.”
