Coventry Tesco staff welcome young cancer patient

A young Coventry cancer patient joined Tesco management and staff to launch the Tesco Charity of the Year partnership with the children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent at their Coventry Arena store in March.
Ashar Shah from Finham is 11 years old and is having treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Ashar impressed and motivated store staff with a moving speech about his treatment for cancer.
Ashar’s mum, Issat Shah, knows first hand the importance of having a specialist nurse.
“Ashar was diagnosed when he was nine and he’s now in the middle of the third year of his treatment,” said Issat. “He is well at the moment and everything is finally getting back to normal".
